“Just Claire”, My First Published Book

An incident happened to me when I was ten and haunted me into adulthood. Our family’s life was forever altered as well as my own soul. At the age of 35, I sensed a tug to write about what happened for my own sake and for young people whose lives were changed in a defining moment. “Just Claire” is mostly based on that life-changing time, and the setting is the real place where it happened.

The writing of “Just Claire” took years. My writers’ group, except for one person, said to trash the manuscript after many months. One lady said, “No one has the right to tell you to trash your work. Though, you do need to find out where you are going with this story.”

This was wonderful adivce and moved me forward after much prayer for the Lord’s help with the story.

A small press published “Just Claire” in 2017. The publisher’s excitment of the story left me in awe.

After almost ten years of the publication of J”ust Claire”, people still buy and read the book.
