Wednesday Verses ~ That Sold Doves

“Then he [Jesus] made a scourge of small cords, and drove them all out of the Temple with the sheep and oxen, and powered [drove] out the changers [of] money, and overthrew the tables, And said unto them that sold doves, ‘Take these things hence: make not my fathers house, an house of merchandise.’ And his disciples remembered, that it was written [in Old Testament], ‘The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up'” (John 2:15-17 [1587 Geneva Version]). 

Father, to abuse the temple this way was sinful. Now Christ reigns in our hearts and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Help us to care for our temple and not abuse it. In Christ’s holy name we ask. Thank You~
