Wednesday Verses ~ I Am Not the Christ

“Then this is the record of John, when the Jews sent Priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, ‘Who art thou?’ And he confessed and denied not, and said plainly, ‘I am not that Christ'” (John 1:19, 20 [1587 Geneva Version]). 

Father, we understand John the Baptist was the forerunner for Christ. John’s example makes it clear we will suffer for Christ. As much as is in us, we count it joy to suffer for Him. In Christ’s holy name we are glad. Hallelujah~
