Robert, His Horse & A Sheepskin

Preacher Robert Sheffey was a rather short man. He loved God’s creatures big and small. He loved the Appalachian wilderness folks as well. He knelt on a sheepskin when folks needed prayer. Robert rode his beloved horse Gideon on trails, paths, and wagon-rutted roads to share the loving-kindness of the Lord.

Some people thought Robert had odd ways. He gave his greatcoat to a man who shivered in the cold and gave away his socks off his feet to someone in need. He even gave away his horse. He helped insects when they were in danger. He helped a turtle off its back and sent him on his way. Robert also prayed to the Lord as if He were there in the room.

The mountain folks fed him his favorites: honey for his biscuits and buttermilk to drink.

Robert, His Horse & a Sheepskin, is the true story of a man who shared the gospel of Christ in the hollows and valleys of the Appalachian Mountains.

This Early Reader for children is now up at Amazon and Ingram Spark. The book is for up to 2nd grade reading level and is a wonderful read-aloud for preschoolers.

I uploaded the book and approved it on Ingram less than two weeks ago and have already sold a copy from Ingram’s site. Guess where someone bought it from? Scotland! I was stunned. Yet, when you consider they are big on sheep farms, it’s not so wild.

The book is $13.00 at Amazon and Ingram. I will hand sell a signed copy for $12.00 which includes the cost of media mail.

I don’t have it in my book store here yet, but you may email me: jeanann_w@yahoo.com.

Thank you for encouraging me on my writing endevors.

In Christ we can do all things which strenghtens us.
