Wednesday Verses ~ Remember the Poor
“(For he [the Lord] that was mightie by Peter in the Apostleship ouer the circumcision, was also mightie by me toward the Gentiles) And when Iames [James], and Cephas, and Iohn [John], knew of the grace that was giuen vnto me, which [they] are counted to be pillars, they gaue to me and to Barnabas the right hands of felowship, that we should preach vnto the Gentiles, and they vnto the Circumcision, Warning onely that we should remember the poore: which thing also I was diligent to doe” (Galations 2:8-10 1587 Geneva Version).

Father, there are many things we can attend to as Disciples of Christ. Rembering the poor is one of many. Help us to have discernment to see an opportunity to help those who are indeed poor. Through Christ’s holy name we ask. Thank You~
The Lord’s grace is evident in Paul’s ministry, showing how he was strengthened to preach to the Gentiles. The apostles recognized this divine favor, extending their fellowship to him and Barnabas. Even the false brethren could not undermine the truth of the Gospel that Paul upheld. How encouraging it is to see God’s hand guiding His servants through opposition! Why do you think the false brethren sought to spy on Paul’s liberty in Christ?
