Building Characters: Who’s Who? In the Bible, Stories & Activities for Children
Creative Being~Genesis 2:7, 8, 15-20
Riddle: God made me alive. I used my mind to do a job for God. Who am I?
My Story: God formed me of dust from the ground. He breathed into my nose the breath of life. I came alive. God planted a garden. He put me in it to take care of the garden.
Out of the ground the LORD God made every beast. He made every bird of the heavens. He brought them to me to see what I called them.
One flying thing had wings of many colors. I called it dragonfly. A large beast with four long legs had a round belly. Below its belly there was a soft bag with four tubes. The tubes hung down. I pressed one. It was soft. Warm fluid came out. I tasted it. It was good. I named this beast cow.
A thing with fur rubbed my leg. It meowed. I aimed the tube and pressed the liquid I called milk on its mouth. Its tongue licked the milk. I called it cat.
A bird walked by me. It had eye shapes at the tips of its long, many-colored feathers. I sighed at its beauty. I called it peacock.
God created them all. As a creative being I named them well.
Bonus: Name the garden.
As my faithful Website group, I wanted you to see the rough draft of this book. I have a long way to go, but it is fleshing out nicely so far. This is Old Testament only. At the end of each chapter, there will be a two page spread for the crossword puzzles. This book is a beginning reader as a missionary in India is needing biblical stories for the beginning readers of his village. After my first editor edits, I do have someone who will do a second edit and format the pages [the art needs to be sized to each page also] to prepare for publishing. I don’t have a print date as yet but I hope it is sometime toward the end of 2022.
If you will comment your thoughts or any questions you may have, I will gift a copy of this book to the first three commenters. Thank you for following me! Jean
